Storm Aviation often requires aircraft engineers around the world. In the UK, we have staff at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Luton, Birmingham, Stansted and Prestwick. Overseas we have Dusseldorf and Dhaka.

Having been with Storm Aviation for over 8 years, their role as a B1 Shift Engineer involves managing shifts, planning manpower, and addressing any arising issues, while also providing coverage on aircraft when necessary.
As an engineer, they appreciate working for Storm due to the diversity of aircraft types, especially at Gatwick where they handle a wide range of aircraft, that no day is ever the same.
When asked about the benefits of working at Storm Aviation, they mentioned, “It’s always challenging to compete with airlines, but I believe having benefits such as Medical and Dental coverage, in particular, is really beneficial should you ever need to utilize them.”
Regarding why an engineer should consider joining Storm Aviation, they stated, “If you’re looking for opportunities to expand your license through various training programs and advance your career, then this is the place to be.”
Charlie has been with Storm Aviation for nearly 10 years, and his role has evolved over time. As a B1 Licensed Engineer, he is responsible for conducting maintenance checks on various aircraft and certifying them.
He appreciates the convenience of the line station being local to where he lives and enjoys the newly improved office space. The variety of available shift patterns suits him well, and he enjoys working with his colleagues, giving a real team culture.
Reflecting on his experience, Charlie stated, “Storm has provided me with significant support in training, whether it was supporting me obtain my B1 license or providing different type trainings.”
When asked why an Engineer should consider joining Storm Aviation, Charlie emphasised,” If you enjoy a job where you’re busy, and an environment where it’s fast paced and have to think on your feet, then it’s perfect. I have a supportive manager, and the teams are generally supportive as well. Additionally, I believe it’s a great place to experience a variety of work, as we handle many different aircraft types.”
Martin has been with Storm Aviation for 8 years and serves as a Line Station Manager for our Belfast and Newcastle sites. His responsibilities include maintaining aircraft and overseeing line station operations, which involves manpower, tooling, and training.
When asked about his experience working for Storm, he expressed, “I feel like a valued team member with the ability to influence positive change within the company, allowing me to leave a lasting legacy.” Additionally, he noted, “Storm offers one of the most comprehensive benefits packages in the industry for an MRO company.”
One notable experience Martin shared was his involvement in a dynamic team effort to ensure uninterrupted operations in the UK. This involved strategically reallocating staff to support the business—a testament to the collaborative spirit within the organisation.
Regarding why an engineer should consider joining Storm Aviation, Martin said, “The ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment where your efforts are noticed and appreciated.”
